Brewery Tours in the New Forest: What to Expect at PIG BEER

If you have searched for a brewery tour in Hampshire or the New Forest, you have probably found a lot of pages that never quite say what actually happens on the day. So here it is plainly: what a tour at PIG BEER involves, what it costs, how long it takes, and how to get here without a car.

Where PIG BEER is
PIG BEER is a working brewery, beer garden and shop on the edge of Brockenhurst, just off the A337 main road to Lymington, right in the middle of the New Forest. The address is Hops House, Brockenhurst, SO42 7UF, and there is a free onsite car park.
The brewery sits on a former pig farm. It was started by two brothers and a cousin who, in their own words, share more than a surname.
What actually happens on the tour
You are shown round by Harry, our head brewer and co-founder. He takes you through how the beer gets from a sack of grain to the PIG BEERs you can drink at the bar, and through the history of the brewery itself.
It is hands on. You get to handle the ingredients rather than look at them through glass, and there is plenty of our beer to drink along the way. At the end you take home one of our bar blades as a souvenir.
The whole thing runs about 90 minutes.
What it costs, and how to book
Tickets are £15 per person and the booking fee is included, so £15 is what you pay.
Tours run on selected Saturdays, with two sittings on a tour day, at 12:00 and 14:00. The next dates are Saturday 5 September and Saturday 19 September 2026, and after that they tend to run roughly every fortnight.
This is the one thing at PIG BEER you do need to book. The tap room needs no booking at all, but each sitting is limited to 15 places, so if a date matters to you, book it early. Current dates and tickets are always on the What's On page at pigbeer.com.
One thing to know before you book: if you cancel within three days of the tour date, we are not able to refund you.
Who can come
Brewery tours are over 18s only. We operate a Challenge 25 policy, so if you look under 25 please bring ID with you. It is a working brewery and there is beer throughout, which is why the age limit is firm.
On accessibility: there is a disabled toilet on site, but this is a working brewery and an outdoor space, so the ground is uneven in places. If you are unsure whether the tour will work for you, call us on 01590 607237 before you book and we will talk it through.
Getting here without a car
One of the genuine advantages of visiting PIG BEER is that nobody has to be the designated driver.
By train. Brockenhurst Railway Station has regular direct services from London Waterloo, Southampton, Poole and Bournemouth. The station is a two minute taxi ride from the brewery. The taxi rank is on the ticket office side of the station, or you can call Brockenhurst Taxis on 01590 615141.
By bus. The number 6 between Southampton and Lymington stops a six minute walk away, at the Filly Inn stop on Setley Road.
On foot. There are mapped walking routes to the brewery on OS Maps, including two from Brockenhurst station and one from Roundhill Campsite. They are mainly forest, track and country road, so they are daylight routes.
By car. Free onsite car park.
Make a day of it while you are here
A tour is 90 minutes, and the rest of the site is worth staying for.
There is a stretch tent bar and beer garden serving our own beers, guest beers, bar snacks and a full range of other drinks. It is covered and heated, so it stays open all year. Dogs are welcome on leads and there is water for them. Cyclists are welcome too, with bike anchor points, and nobody minds a bit of mud on your boots.
At weekends there are often guest street food vendors, and in summer we run our own weekend pizza kitchen. Live music runs through the year. All of it is listed on the What's On page.
If someone in your group is driving or simply not drinking, the bar serves cider, wine, prosecco, spirits, soft drinks, iced coffee, 0% beer from Clearhead and 0% prosecco.
There is also an onsite shop for bottles, mini kegs and merch, and you can fill your own container, flask or growler straight from the draft taps.
